First puppy training class :)

Faith had her first training class today i was a bit nervous cause i didn't know how she would react in a hall full of loads of puppies but she was great When we first took her in all the dogs were off lead running around chasing each other i decided to keep faith on lead though but she did meet all the other pups. (she was the only staffy there) She did growl a bit though which i think made the owners a bit wary because they didn't really let their dogs near her after, but she just wanted to play she never shows her teeth or anything.

But she did really well better than alot of the other pups did have a bit of excitment wee but hay ho it was a new exciting experience for her really proud of her though she did everything and was really good at it. People where giving her lots of attention after the class so i think they realise shes a nice little girl after all

Is her growling something to be concerned about? The teacher didn't say anything but people where funny about it.

It may also have been nerves & excitement! I wouldn't worry about it.

So so pleased all went well, and the little wee love it!!

Moo is very vocal when it comes to play, sometimes I wish she wasn't as she is fully grown and it sounds kinda scary! Part and parcel of her really, and I can't blame people for not wanting her to play! She has play dates instead lol.

Awwwww thanks Yeah i said that she growls all the time when she's playing with my other dogs and dogs over the park. The teacher said oh its because the other pups are probably annoying her but that wasn't the case at all she just wanted to meet everyone.

Dogs growl when they're playing naturally! They're talking to each other in a way!

Yeah i thought it was a pretty natural thing every staffy ive know has done it. i Guess people are unaware of this Thank you

My Border collies & GSDs did it as well!

Growling is very normal. Suki is unusual as the only time she growls is at the vet. Here is a link on body language that should help you out when she is with other dogs

Glad to hear it went well at training school. Don't worry about the growling it's something they do, a way of communicating.

Neext time let her off the leash as your anxiety may have also trnasfered to her via the lead and hence her nervousness.

When I first went to puppy class Toby only ever growled if he couldn't get to the dog he was looking at to play (since i was holding him back because we were supposed to be training). I'd say it is just expressing fustration, but im no dog psychologist!

nothing nicer than seeing your puppy belting around at full speed with a bunch of pups

Haha yup although she generally is more intrested in getting attention of people lol.
