training class

Tash had her first training class today and was an absolute star. She sat, lay down and came perfectly. Had some great introductions to other dogs apart from trying to jump on some of their backs but she was brilliant apart from being sick on the car journey back.

she doesnt like car journeys and she'd had a lot of high content treats at training, bless her.

Your vets might do a puppy socialisation group which you can go to as soon as he's had his first jabs, and most good training clubs will let you go along as soon as he's allowed out after the final jabs. The sooner you can socialise the better - you can also take him out before he's finished his jabs by carrying him - start slowly by just taking him round the block, then try & introduce him to new situations. If he's scared, don't sympathise with him, just hold him firmly but gently & talk to him in a quiet, normal voice & that should reassure him.

Hi Mick, tash was 12 weeks old when she went, took her for her first vaccination a couple of days after getting her and booked her on the course the same time, she went 2 weeks after her second jab. Its brilliant for her, she gets to socialise with other dogs which is what i really wanted. she now wants to say hello to every single person and dog she meets.

Your dog looks gorgeous, you must be so excited.

Thanks Jules we are so looking forward to having him here at home with us it really is dragging though , we want the best for him and today i found puppy classes near to where we live so will be booking him in , thanks for the advice Caryll we have a caravan near the coast and most people there have dogs so reckon it's going to be a great place to socialize him , how lucky he is two homes already and one with a beach .
