What a cute pup! and congratulations on your new and somewhat unexpected puppy!!
I really haven't a clue with regards to buying a pup (against it if I am honest), I will only rescue, but its done now so just enjoy. I can't see any harm in him going back to the breeder whilst you are away.
Looking forward to see lots more pics of Diesel and hear how he grows and develops

Congrats! It is hard to wait when they are sitting there looking so cute! If they are willing to look after him while you are gone, it will probably be fine. It is always easier to be practical before visiting. Once the cuties are there, practical doesn't seem all that imporant anymore. At least, thats how I roll...

aw Diesel is just so cute, congrats, lovely addition to the family
Just make sure you have something from the breeder that says he is yours, or he could get sold again

Ahh he's very cute, congrats !!
As much as everyone disagrees with back yard breeding and situations like this sometimes it really is just the way it goes, so you've already done the right thing and had him vet checked etc so just enjoy him!!
I wouldn't have a problem with him going back to the breeder whilst you're away, like others have suggested though try and get a receipt or something, is he too small to have him micro chipped as an extra precaution in case you're really worried?

eddypeck wrote:thanks all, as the holiday gets closer we're getting more concerned now about him going back to the breeder and mixing with the litter, his settling into our home and routine is going so well, I know anything we have taught him can be re-taught but more of a worry is his safety - could any harm come to him. Could his mum or siblings turn on him as he's been away from them?
I think if the breeder is going to make sure that they are supervised and monitor the situation, should any problems arise, you should really not have much to worry about.
I took my pup back to visit her dam & only remaining litter mate after a few weeks - a couple of times.
Although it wasn't back on a full time basis, they all recognised each other instantly, my pup even went for some milk, much to my dismay, and play with the other litter mate ensued, although the mother had raw nipples and had had previously enough of them at 4 weeks old, so she didn't do a lot but walk away and a growl and nudge my pup away. But both the pups had a fantastic time together. She still behaved the same with me when we got back
I hope he continues to settle with you and you have a good time on holiday..

He is a lovely pup and in the end it really does not matter how or why he came into this world as he is yours now. I also see no reason why he cannot be micro-chipped before going back while you are on holiday. Tyson was microchipped before I got him @ 9 weeks old.
Lots of good advice already given.
