I'm thinking it must be the noise that the cyclone makes, it's quite high pitched and I'm sure there are level that we can't hear.
how can I stop him, or calm him down? Have tried nice introductions to it, placing treats on it and the like!
Barking - snap
(tail wagging) - snap
Placing treats on vacuum when off AND when on - snap
I've got exactly the same problem, you should see her move when it feels like she's about to be trapped!!

zeus hates the vacuum cleaner too. as soon as it comes out he gets scared and starts running away from it! ive never pampered him or gave him treats as ive heard that'll just inforce the idea that there is something to be afraid of. i let him do whatever hes gotta do, hoping that one day, he'll realise its harmless!

We had this problem as well. Try leaving it out so they can get used to it. Turn it on every so often for a small amount of time and gradually build up

Mine's happy with the vacuum but when he sees the mop you won't see him for dust, under the sofa he goes and won't come out until the mop has gone. To be honest i just ignore him like Zeus just hoping Cali will realise one day it is just a mop.

Rocky is very good with the vacuum claeaner and will stand beside me while I use it.
I was looking to see if it was just male dogs that have an issue with it, this I could have understood but no it seems some ladies dont like the vacuum either

We also have an upright Dyson and Nala goes mental at it, it's the only thing she really barks at and as you said - it doesn't even have to be on!

Tilly was a bit scared of ours but we found it best to just ignore her , this plays down the situation and now she just goes and lies on the bed or removes herself to a room where the vacuum isn't . You mention in earlier posts that you crate Diesel, have you tried putting him in there (with the door open) while you vacuum , if he feels this is his safe haven it may work, but to be honest I'm only guessing as we dropped the crate as soon as Tilly could go all night without the toilet so she is a crate free girl

Mine must be the odd one out.
I can run Henry straight past Marley's nose while he's resting, and get no reaction.
If I turn the power down, he's quite happy for me to vacuum his loose hairs, too.

Blue is fine with the hover, but if you sweep up he has to run over and shove his nose in the pile of dust. Its like he checks to make sure nothing of his is in the pile getting chucked out. Seen him pick crumb size pieces of nylabone out while giving me a filthy look

Polly hates our Dyson and goes off to hide under our bed
Charlie thinks it's great fun to jump on it and try to bite it's wheels and if i am using the hose bits forget getting anything done, he might only be almost 16 weeks but he can drag the thing in totally the other direction to where I want to go. I also have a little old fashioned carpet sweeper for when they have been chewing up stuff, he drags that around the room or runs round it in circles barking his head off
