hello - and advice needed please
someone i know with little doggy experience has just taken on an 8month old staff / pitbull cross. i have dogs but know little about either of these breeds. They lead busy lives and and are already caging the pup for periods of time. she seems friendly but is very lively and is a bit nippy. it's unlikely from what i know of them that they will spend much or any time exercising / stimulating / training her.
advice please - am i jumping the gun by contacting the rspca? i want her to have the best life possible.

i tried advice with their last dog, which they signed over to the rspca less than 2 months ago when he was so thin it was criminal. i'm just worried that she'll be a status dog and then just not bothered with.

Re: hello - and advice needed please
These sort of people make my blood boil ... whatever you do, the poor things future dosent look good ... why the hell get an athletic, driven breed, if you cant look after it
I think calling the RSPCA is the kindest thing to do, get her away from the idiots asap, before she becomes a problem and goes for someone through ill treatment, lack of excercise, poor feeding etc etc ... even if they PTS, it will be a more humane end for the poor thing than staying with them

Re: hello - and advice needed please
Hi & welcome to the forum.
Firstly, well done for being so concerned about the pup's welfare!
Secondly, I'd phone the RSPCA, not only telling them your fears for this pup, but also about the one that was signed over a short while ago. Although they might not be able to do anything at the moment, they might be able to keep an eye open for any signs that the dog is suffering.

So sad to read this. Thank you for looking out for the pup but I have to agree with the above. Why would someone who just gave a dog up to the RSPCA get another one and an active breed at that?

Re: hello - and advice needed please
Hi and welcome.
Well done for caring. Why have they taken on the same active breed and why an 8 month old? Do contact the RSPCA before this dog is neglected as well. Gather any evidence you can to strengthen your concerns. They should be able to give the best advice. Prevention is better than cure as we sadly found out the hard way with a recent failed adoption of a 2 yr old Staffy with nasty dog aggression and other problems.
Best ol luck!

Hi and welcome from us and Suki. I believe I would contact the RSPCA as well since they just had a dog taken 2 months ago
