Yep, Dempsey has two, and although you can see where his teeth have scraped them, they're still very much intact! He loves them!

Suki loves hers as well. They seem like they are going to last a long time

Re: Deer antlers in Australia
yes I had heard ( read ) such good things about them here on this forum !
We got Winston an extra tough dental ball..it was in a million pieces with in minutes! I had never even heard about giving a dog antlers till I saw it here..so hoping they last as long as all of yours are! Are they smelly at all? I was wondering if I can have one inside in his toy box in the lounge to chew on while we watch tv at night.

Re: Deer antlers in Australia
oh cool! I'm going camping this weekend (with Russell!) in an area frequented by deer, so maybe I'll find some dropped ones, but if I don't I might buy some!

Not smelly at all! You do have to be careful not to get them wet, though - don't leave them outside in the rain or anything like that.

Re: Deer antlers in Australia
i can also hightly recommend these. Got one for Rocky yesterday in Jolleys and he hasn't left it alone since.
It's called Stagbar from a supplier called puredog.
Think we will have to ration his time with it though otherwise thats all he will do.

Re: Deer antlers in Australia
when I went to order another 2 of these recently in Australia, the price and the postage had almost doubled! then I noticed some on international ebay in the USA...well I just got a box of about 25 bits of antlers....nothing like the big thick ones above but from about 2 inches to about 6 inches long and only thin, but both my boys are enjoying nibbling on them...And all up with postage was only about $25 !! I put about 6 of them in Winston's toy box in the lounge and he rummages around and picks them out and has a chew...they may only be small bits but they are still lasting well!

Re: Deer antlers in Australia
They sell antlers at our local pet food store. Deer, elk, moose. Callie LOVES hers. We've only had it a few weeks but it's none the worse for wear. Just bought one for a colleague with a pit bull puppy. Highly recommended chewing happiness.
Miss Callie particularly likes to sit with her front half/paws in my lap and have me hold the antler so she can get just the right mouth angle on it. OK, I guess, we do spoil her a little bit.

Re: Deer antlers in Australia
Got Blue a stag bar last week and he loves his. I noticed in the instructions it said something about DO NOT hold it for your dog. No idea why, but just thought I would bring it up in case it is dangerous to do so.
I can't see how it would be, probably one of them things they have to write to cover themselves. Threw the instructions in the bin so can't check to see why now.
Anyone else seen that and know why?

Do you suppose it's so you can't sue them whem the dog chews your finger?
Nextt they'll be labelling Staffs "do not insert fingers in mouth or risk injury"

Re: Deer antlers in Australia
I use strictly antlers for my stafford and my Boston. They last longer and are ordorless. Family hunts a lot so I get freebies. I have seen on lots in eBay stores for reasonable prices, may want to look into that
