Re: About Bones
If you give your dog bones they should not be cooked, this way they will crack rather than splinter. We have never given Rocky any bones so far and I doubt that we will. Please take a look at the link below:

Re: About Bones
I suggest raw ribs as opposed to shin bones as shin bones can hurt a dogs teeth. You can also buy those pork knuckle bones from pet shops that my dog used to love but some people don't like to give them to their dog as they're roasted.
If he really loves chewing you could give him a rawhide bone-but only when supervised- or try him with a stag bar. Stag bars are deers antlers and unlike raw hide have lots of minerals in them and don't make a mess. Apparently they last for ages too.

Re: About Bones
Anyone else think this looks slightly on the rude side?
Sorry no suggestions on bones, was actually going to pose a similar question myself...

Re: About Bones
our butcher gives bags of free bones for dogs (actually get a bit of meat on them) which are cut into nice size pieces that work well as a treat and make them easy for chucking in the freezer
Ledger takes his time chewing them and doesnt try to just swallow large pieces but I always keep my eye on him when he has them

Re: About Bones
If you're not happy with giving a raw bone, then definitely try a large stag bar. You can get them on Amamzon.
