Pimpley Rash
Our 4 year old male has a rash on his stomach and under his back legs! He is really uncomfortable! I've read a few threads about allergies to food and grass! His diet has never changed we just vary it now and then and we have lived in the same house for over 4 years!
The only thing that i can think of is that we bought our daughter 2 Guinea Pigs on the weekend and Bodie got into their cage! We had to move them inside because he seriously wants to kill them! The Guinea Pigs are now going to a new home! Bodie is all sad and sooky and not his jumpy bubbley self! He is still eating and drinking but he wont come out of his kennel!!! I gave him a warm bath (which he loves) but he is all MEH whatever!!!
What should i do???

Re: Pimpley Rash
Hiya, whenever mine has a slight rash I use sudocream on it which generally does the trick. He may be sulking because of the new guinea pigs, just a thought. Mine sulked over the hamster! If he is still eating and drinking etc personally I wouldn't worry too much but keep an eye in case it worsens. It could be any number of things. To me it sounds like Bodie has had his nose slighty put out of joint!

Re: Pimpley Rash
Yer thats the only thing you can do really. I know a lot of people rush to the vets, me included but if I went everytime Moo was off colour I'd be going everyday at some stage with her strops! But keep a close eye too.

Yes, Sudocrem's a good one. I've been using it ever since I bought some when my son was born 18 years ago!
If he's eating & drinking I wouldn't worry too much, he sounds like he's sulking! If you notice that he's not wanting his walks, or he develops the runs or anything, best get him checked out.

Re: Pimpley Rash
So just got back from the vet!!
And he is pretty sure that the Guinea Pigs were the cause of Bodie's reaction!!! He gave him an injection and sent me home with some tablets!!!! Bodie ate them out of his hand the little turd!!! Usually i have to jam them down his throat!!!
Hopefully he will be back to himself soon

Re: Pimpley Rash
my girl suffers with these type of rashes , but coincides also with ear infections . which the vet calls externa otitis he gives her hydrocotisone injection and some ear cleaner which clears the condition up quickly. not saying it will be the same but i have been putting hydrocortisone cream on her and it clears up the rashes . worth a try
