Have you walked anywhere different today? On his neck and belly sounds like he could have rubbed it on something?

Have you tried an antihistamine like Piriton?  That looks like what my daughter gets - we and the Drs. initially thought it was heat rash too but she actually has an allergy to excess vit c in the form of aspartic acid which we figured out eventually.

Anything new happen like recent vaccinations, diet changes, playing in the grass, etc?

The only thing I can think of is that he's been on this prescription diet, and.Now he's back on his normal food, and he developed the rash, so he might now be allergic...

That is a possibility. I've had dogs that suddenly became allergic to chicken and egg after eating it for a long time.

Does he still have the rash? Have you tried the antihistamine to see if helps?

Yeah I rang the vets this morning as he was sick, and seeing we had the problem with him last week I thought better safe than sorry!!! Yeah he still has the rash, it's not as bad though.

Poor pup. Hopefully the rash goes soon and he's feeling better soon. Maybe the vet will have some answers too.
