Re: off lead
Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and me.
It may be an idea to get a training lead of about 5 meters to start off with and take things from the begining. Just begin with some basic commands like sit and stay and see how it goes. Then gradually build up the distance between you and her with the stay command.
The training lead is a tape of about 2cm wide. They are available from Pets at Home for about £15.00.

Re: off lead
buy a long lead (30-50ft) and train her on recall when you call her she comes to you for her favourite food or toy start off a couple of meters away and build up over time so she's the length of the lead away she learns when i return i get a treat

Re: off lead
Hiya and welcome from me and Moo! Agree with advice above, you need to practice her recall with her more.
She's very cute in your profile.

Re: off lead
Hi & welcome to the forum.
Agree. If she has a long line on, then you can just let it trail & if you need to call her & she doesn't respond, just pick it up & reel her in!

Re: off lead
I found both mine come better to a whistle but you have to work with it in your home first make it so whenever you blow it she gets a special treat
Staffs are cleaver dogs mine learnt it within a few days
I started with the whistle because my girl got to the stage where she wouldnt recal (she did have brill recall to start) so i went back to the basics

Re: off lead
Perseverance!
As soon as you get up in the morning, take her straight out. Don't let her in the garden etc. Just straight out, and stay out until she's so bursting that she has to go! Then give a trigger word (wee wee, or toilet, or whatever you want to use) as she's peeing & then loads of praise & maybe a treat! It sounds like she doesn't think it's right to go anywhere except the house/garden!
