Harrys been in hospital (update on regurgitating)

I have just brought Harry home from the veterinary hospital where he spent the day. Hes had every blood test possible and a pancreatic test, plus a scan. Poor boy is looking really sorry for himself, still groggy from the sedation, hes shaved and got a plaster on his leg.

Took him in this morning because when I gave him scrambled egg for breakfast with just 30g of JWB kibble mixed in he regurgitated it immediately. So although hes been on a bland diet for a few days he just couldn't tolerate it mixed with dog food. This started a week ago today.

The vet found he had a slight temperature but all his bloods and other tests came back as normal. The scan showed a couple of enlarged lymph glands in his stomach which they thought were as a result of being sick, but no obstructions or foreign objects were found.

Verdict is, he either has a bacteria infection, a virus, or he swallowed something that has inflamed his digestive tract but has now passed through him. He has a week of hills i/d food some anti sickness drugs and omeprazole to take before meals. Really important I ensure that he doesn't become dehydrated.

Honestly hope this will sort my boy out its breaking my heart to see him so low.

Thank goodness it was nothing serious, let's hope with the drugs he gets better really soon

Bet its nice to have him home, suppose all you can do is wait and see, I really hope he improves. Xx

Poor Harry. Hope the meds work quickly.

Last night was quite an experience, Harry came to bed with me as usual but just sat bolt upright on the bed all night shaking and whining. Gave him some food about 3am and he then had a little sleep woke up and started all over again. Finally settled down about 7am and we were both enjoying a sleep when a friend phoned to ask how he was, so I'm a bit like a zombie today

Just about to take him out for a walk as he's much brighter this afternoon, but even though he's on 4 small meals today he is starving hungry and we all know what staffies are like for food!

He has a week of tablets and special food but is allowed nothing else whatsover and its killing me not to be able to give him any treats but its for his own good, just wish I could explain that to him! Got the first days tablets in him so hoping to see some improvement by the weekend.
