Any ideas Empty Any ideas

Post by anne w Tue Jan 24 2012, 16:56

Hi, well day 3 of having custard and I love her dearly but can some one tell me if this is normal or is she taking me for a ride lol ,,, have got her to go and use the garden when she needs to rather than my carpet so that's great but for the last day and a half she just won't leave me alone. Tho I have given her lots of hugs and cuddles just sometimes I need a bit of space !! If I'm sitting on the chair having a quiet 10 mins she forever coming up and trying to put her paws on my lap or trying to lick me I say no and put her paws back down but this goes on for ever till i get up and move ? I am waiting for a trainer to get back to me as she does need bit of training so that should help ? Any ideas ?

Thanks

Anne Smile

all i can say it's normal for a staff to want constant attention, the only time our's leaves us alone is when he's eating sleeping or playing with his bones and even then he'll take a break for a fuss

Any ideas Empty Excercise!

Post by chrissy Tue Jan 24 2012, 18:15

"A tired dog is a happy dog" exercise, discipline then affection. quote from Cesar Milan.

I didnt do this until my dog was 4 years old and it works. If you like to sleep in it won't work. haha. Ceaser Milan is very popular here, have you watched his videos?

Moo knows when to leave me be and when she can get away with being a pain! Its early days with custard and right now and to be sure she wants some reassurance. She'll settle but also be warned they are a very human oriantated breed and cuddles and attention is in there nature Xx

Very normal espically since you've had her for such a short time. She will become more confident in time and not want quite as much attention.

If I didn't watch where I was walking for a minute I would trip and fall because I have two dogs constantly under my feet. Love it though. Part of having a dog.

Herman seems to believe being the center of attention is his birthright. He may be right! Laughing

Don't forget, as well, that everything is still so new, and she might be a little anxious that you'll disappear & she'll be back in kennels!

Give her time & I'm sure she'll settle.
