Constant Cough
You know when a cat gets a furball and they struggle to cough it up? Well my staff Lola, who I've had nearly a week now is doing the same thing almost all the time.
Now and again she'll spit out a bit of clear phlegm, nothing worse than that. I'm wondering if she might be allergic to my cat.

Re: Constant Cough
Could be kennel cough, especially as she's been in close contact with other dogs in kennels before you got her.
Give the rescue centre a quick ring & ask if they've had any problems with kennel cough. If it is that, you'll have to see the vet & get some treatment.

Re: Constant Cough
Just spoke to the kennels, and yes, they have a lot of kennel cough at the moment, and I've got to give her some Benylin!!
Benylin Tickly Cough, non-drowsy, twice a day for dogs over 10kg.

Re: Constant Cough
That'll ease the symptoms, but if it carries on for more than a couple of days, you really ought to see the vet. Kennel cough can end up damaging a dog's lungs/trachea if they're allowed to go too long coughing their guts up!

Re: Constant Cough
As said above, Kennel Cough can be quite nasty.
I would be inclined to take her to the vets to get the best treatment. When my girl RoXy had kennel cough I took her to the vets and she was given a needle and antibiotics to give her too. As it is contagious, you will need to keep her home and away from other dogs until the cough has stopped.
