having trouble with 'down' command ... all help appreciated
Hi all
As part of puppy training I have to get Zac to lie down. He does it beautifully on the nice warm carpet, not so keen on cold kitchen tiles or wooden flooring or outside on the grass (which is where we do puppy class) LOL.
Is it just a case of perserverence or anyone got any tips? I train with treats but I think he just doesn't want to do it as its cold and we all know how stubborn staffs can be
As I'm typing this he has run into the kitchen with a Santa hat ... Which isn't his lol ... Off to rescue it!!

Just be consistant with your training. Moo hates to lay on the wet grass but I still get her to do when I'm training her, she will lay and wait when I throw a toy and when I give the command go fetch.
Indoors I have underfloor heating so she is happy to lay anywhere.
If you have the command already just be persistant with it

Violet will only lie down outside on the cold ground if there's a treat involved. If there's no treat, the best we can hope for is front elbows down, and bum in the air

Doing well with 'down' at home now. He will do it on carpet, wooden floor and tiles. Just need to get him to do it on grass
