Lola started eating poop!
I took Lola for her walk this morning and hubby caught her eating some other dog's poop!
Why on earth has she suddendly started eating poop. She's sniffed other dog's poop but she has never eaten it till today! It was like a frozen poop ice lolly! >=P >=P >=P
Why I told her to leave it she wouldn't and when I went over she ran off with her tail between her legs.
Any advice??

Oh my!
Ollie eats our cats poop.
All we do is say "NO! That's naughty".
He knows he has done wrong, and hopefully will learn.
It's all about time and patient.

Unfortunatly a lot of dogs do it, training is the only thing that will stop it and being one step ahead

Ledger had never done this then dad told me that their dog Lucky had introduced Ledger to the delights of eating rabbit poo today he just ate some dog poo it was met with a sharp 'no' from me so guess I have a new thing to look out for on walks
For anyones dog that does this do you do anything to clean their mouths when you get home?

omg Diesel does this with her own - I have to watch her like a hawk when she goes to loo in the garden
She will occasionally 'ninja eat' the poo but at the same time look guilty as hell ! and will immediately come in and go to her bed - ears back - tail between he rlegs - she knows !

If it’s not well digested it could well be attractive to most dogs. Teach her a brilliant ‘leave’ and be ready to give her a treat right away when she leaves the poo alone. Avoid telling her off for it just make sure she knows the alternative treat is much nicer and then she’ll grow out of that habit (......hope )

Re: Lola started eating poop!
Dogs have fewer taste spuds than us, its all about smell to them, they only do it either out of habit or they are lacking in something and wish to recycle to reobsorbe what they are lacking.
