Still no poop !
Chase was neutered on Monday and last pooped Monday morning before his surgery.
Do I need to be concerned that there's still no movement?
He's been kinda quiet this afternoon and didn't howl the place down after I left to get the kids from school.
I even stood outside the house for ten minutes listening and came back in to check he was okay!
He's looking sulky and down and is "licking" (keeps sticking out his tongue like a snake) which makes me think something might be wrong with him.
He's still very swollen and bruised but is eating fine and peeing fine and getting his pain relief in the mornings.
Do I need to call the vet?

Re: Still no poop !
I would be concerned and at least try to phone your vet for advice, if you hesitate going directly to the clinic first

Yes I agree, I'd definitely be giving the vet a call.

Re: Still no poop !
Just a thought, are you sure that he’s not been pooping somewhere and then promptly been eating up the evidence ?

Re: Still no poop !
He only ever goes outside on the lead.
The second day we had him he jumped the little wall in the front garden and knocked a small child clean off her feet :-(
So after that he's stayed on the lead.
Matt said he squat to go poop this morning but then stopped himself and carried on walking. I'm wondering if it's still too painful for him. He is bruised up pretty good bless him.

If he hasn't gone by the morning I would give the vets a quick call and see what they say

Re: Still no poop !
Gonna take him for a bit longer of a walk tomorrow morning and see if he goes then.
He's very frustrated at the lack of exercise so that's probably not helping.
If no movement after the walk I'll phone them and see if there's anything we can give him to get him moving again.
Oh and update on my other post ...
My results came back all clear, I don't have cancer ... Phew!

Phew sounds a bit of an understatement!!!
I'd phone the vet too, just to be on the safe side.

Good news about the results. Hopefully a longer walk will do the trick, if not I would call the vet for a chat.

Re: Still no poop !
Update ...
Came down this morning to find Chase had pooped in his crate.
Matt took him straight out for a walk and he pooped twice more ... Yay!
He's now back to his usual self, chewing on his bone and digging up his bed :-)
However he has managed to split his E-collar somehow ... Silly boy!
Hoping the vet will say that he'll not need it after his check up on Monday. He's healing really well despite the bruising.

Re: Still no poop !
Thank you everyone.
Chase is still doing okay and everything still seems normal.
He just wants to run, jump and play now but I still have him on part time crate arrest.
