Dog Beds?
Ive decided that it's time for Billy to sleep in the kitchen with out a cage. He has been sleeping on a big duvet in his cage but it has started to smell a bit. I want to buy him a new bed. He does chew somtimes when he is alone in the house but Im hoping with him being loose in the kitch and getting him more toys to chew he will be ok. Id like to get him a big bed and a warm one, what beds have you got for your staffy? Which ones are the best? I was hoping to get one off ebay but there are so many and I have no idea which one to buy him. Please Help me?

Re: Dog Beds?
She had a plasic one with a cushion, she chewed it. She had a huge foam one, she had an accident in it so it went in the bin. She had another foam one, got home to find the stuffing all round the place!
Now she sleeps on my bed, I gave up

Re: Dog Beds?
We use a soft circular bed. A cheap one though because Suki still eats them sometimes if we leave her alone to long. We are looking for a plastic one so we can just add pillows and blankets.

Munch has got 3;
- one soft fake fur silver tiger print puffy mat which was £7 off the market, she uses this one for her bone chewing.
- the grotty one she came with which has had a very good wash which she naps on while i'm doing the housework.
- and lastly her favourite bed.....OURS which she spends all night on!

Re: Dog Beds?
Ledger has two a plastic one lined with an old duvet and just got him a big puffy cushion which is in his crate, got this off the Market for £5 and going to get him a spare for when he stays at my parents and also one of the large £10 ones for the back of the car these are excellent so much nicer than the more than double priced ones that pets at home offer and the stall does spare covers for them too

I must be one of them lucky staffy owners !!! Inca has never really been into chewing anything like her bed (or even my slippers, wooden flooring, skirting boards, doors, chairs, clothing, rugs, towels etc) ... thankfully she is only interested in chewing up (but not swallowing !) empty plastic bottles, cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, carrier bags... I never let her go outta my sight thow when she is destroying a bottle or the other stuff as i wudn't want her to choke ...
She luvs her big floppy soft bed..

Jusst wondering how she can tell the difference between what is allowed and what is not. Tyson must be too dumb

Re: Dog Beds?
Lemmy has had a go at the walls and skirting board but never his bed or his toys or shoes etc. the walls and things were when he was little but now he knows not to. Lottie on the other hand will destroy every toy she gets but she hasnt chewed her bed or anything else. if they do pick up soemthing they arent allowed then a quick NO sorts it

The reason she's knows what is ok to chew and destroy is because 9 times outta 10 i give her the things she can destroy and she gets a sharp NO if she attempts to touch summit she shudn't be touching !!

Re: Dog Beds?
I ended up buying Billy a big Plastic one from Pets at home. Ive taken the cage down and put is duvet in there. Its a bit big as its a king size Laura Ashley one. Lol. I only give it him when he had a urine infection and he ended up keeping it and biting holes in it. Off to the Car boot in Rhyl tomorrow to see if I can buy some cheep bedding for his new bed. Oh and a new color for his birthday. He'll be 2 on December 12th. Them 2 years have flown by.

Re: Dog Beds?
Looking good!
I have a really cool dog bed on legs from Ikea and a soft round pillow kind of bed (and let's not forget the couch), but Gummi is never allowed to be with them unsupervised for now. He's not allowed to be with anything else, for that matter. He's just got a few fleece blankets in his crate as they're the only thing he hasn't shown much of an interest in demolishing. I use the beds for training, though - they're "go to and relax"-targets so hopefully that will prevent him from wanting to chew them in the future. We do all sorts of relaxation training and the beds are really useful. Whenever I have something tasty he'll "beg" by going to his bed and relax

Re: Dog Beds?
Tinkerbell did have a big plastic one with two of our old pillows and a sheet over the top. But we have put the crate in the kitchen now instead and she prefers that as there is more room. She has two pillows (minus the insides), a sheet and a dog mat thingy to cover the crate floor.
Tinkerbell hasn't chewed anything since we got her, isn't bothered with chewing toys and was bought up with kids toys all over the floor so has learnt not to chew by previous owners. Just recently though she has started ripping her pillows up, gathering all the fluff and lying on top of it to hide the evidence

Re: Dog Beds?
My boy Chase has two beds. The one below is his 'posh' bed right in front of the fire and he loves it In his cage in the kitchen I have a cheap single duvet and cover both of which are easily machine washable.
Oh and not forgetting his third choice of course, which is 3/4 of my bed EVERY night
Chase........spoilt............nahhhhhhhh
