Ticks!!!
We found one on Sapphire
Obviously it will be from her walk yesterday on the edge of the woods but we didn't notice it till about an hour ago. We haven't found anymore and hope not to find any but with us taking her to the woods for a walk she is bound to get more of them. Does anyone have an tips or remedies to help prevent them?
I used Spot On flea treatment just under a month ago which is supposed to stop them but clearly it hasn't. I don't want her getting them everytime we go out so i need somethng thats good at preventing them.

Re: Ticks!!!
Thanks!
I didn't want to go the chemical route after seeing Sapphire scratch a lot after her first flea treatment, but i suppose i might have to. I just wondered if anybody had any natural remedies i could use instead.

Re: Ticks!!!
Don't really know of any natural prevention methods. They have very short hair though so the ticks are very easy to see.

It's weird cus I've never seen any on Max, and the place's we take him are prime tick hotspots ... I even had one on my shin last summer, but felt it starting catch hold and got it off

Re: Ticks!!!
Moo had one not so long back, I hadn't a clue what it was, looked like a skin tag, then an extra nipple! Took me 5 days to realise it was a tick!
When I did I stupidly tried to pull it out, which left the head in, so a quick trip to the vets to get that out! (See a nurse cause they don't charge.) All was ok.
You can get things to remove them, but I have only seen one so far, and the nurse will deal with it. Nothing to worry about just make sure the entire tickis removed
