My first Staff pup
Hi,
I'm new to the site so go easy!
We brought home our 8 week old puppy last weekend, and today he had his first vaccination. I picked him up tonight to take him for a toilet break as part of his training routine and he got really snarly with me. He has been nothing but fun since we brought him home, and I am hoping that his vaccination has knocked him back a little bit today and that's why he growled and snarled at me.
My family have had Staffs for as long as I can remember, but this is the first time I've owned my own, and I'd appreciate any reassurance that he might just be reacting to the vaccination.
In fact, mid-typing this he had a toilet accident on the floor. I calmly took him to the "alloted toilet place" and he started snarling again.
I'm sure I'm over-reacting but I'm also worried that he might be showing signs of aggression.
Help!
Thanks
Mike

Re: My first Staff pup
hes still young i'm sure he will grow out of it, if he does something you dont like make sure he knows you are not happy about it and be consistent.

It could be to do with the vaccination, when you picked him up,did you touch near where he had the injection? He could be feeling a little sore and uncomfortable. When my girl was a puppy, she was a bit moody when she had her first jabs. They are just like kids, and alot of babies can be irritable after having injections too.Has he done it again since yesterday?

Thanks both.
It was pretty close to where he had his injection, and I'm sure it was that. He's been perfectly fine this morning, back to his usual self.
