Short Stumpy Tail
Hi there,
My puppy was born with a short stumpy tail. I am wondering if anybody else has a staff pup the same? He is pure bred, in fact, very well bred. I am wondering if this is unusal?
Thanks, would appreciate any comments

Re: Short Stumpy Tail
i had a friend with one like that and the vet said it was something to do with the placenta bursting and sealing round the tail basicaly docking it while in the womb. i wonder if this is what happened to your little one

Ive seen puppys with short tails and also corkscrew ones not sure why it happens but as long as the dog is healthy then all good .

Hey Pete, my Roxy has a short tail too. She is a pure bred with KC papers and a long line of show winners
Shame as I would love to show her. She's still beautiful though

Re: Short Stumpy Tail
I have a staff with the same sort of tail, he's a very handsome boy and he knows it, and he gets many a comment that he could be a show dog. According to our vet it's not unusual for staff's to be born with little
tails. Staffie's are still the best dogs in the world no matter how long the tail!!!
