When changing a puppy from the breeders diet onto kibble.....I know to introduce it very gradually, but do you guys recommend softening the kibble ( Orijen puppy) with liquid to begin with?

I've never softened any of what we have fed.

I wouldnt really bother tbh. Its good for the food to be hard as then the abrasion keeps the teeth and gums clean. I only ever really soften or wet food when the puppies are getting weaned and if any of my dogs have diarreah/sickness (as a way to get more fluids into them)

For really young pups I would soften the kibble with warm water. At 8 weeks + he probably won't need it softened & he might well prefer the 'crunchy' texture!

Can i just ask we have changed Marley over to the f4d small puppy kibble which has gone very well and he looks fab Big Grin but ive started to notice i can no longer hear crunching and the little bugger is just swallowing it whole now Surprised so i have probably another 4 days of feed left shall i just order in the f4d larger puppy kibble? Surely it cant be good for him just swallowing his food whole all the time??
