First, i am so glad i found this web site! I now can chat with staffy parents and they will understand where i am coming from!staffys are a very special breed as we all know and this is a pace where people truely GET IT! any way,our BRUNO is 1o months old hes doing good. now heres the glitch.......he sleeps through the nite thats it he doesnt sleep during the day no nap.he goes on long walks every day,has plenty of stimulation and he is good. I just wanted to know if this is a common behavior with staffs, thanx

We have noticed that Rocky will have a couple of naps during the day: after his morning walk and again after his afternoon walk, each walk is of about an hour at a time.

We have a good play too in the afternoon and the evening and he has always slept through the night no problems.

How long have you had Bruno?? Maybe he just needs more time to get into a routine.

We have also noticed that Rocky will sleep well after a good chew on his stag bar or a chew toy.

My dogs are pretty active when they are awake, being that there are two of them they are always playing and running around, but they have two sometimes 3 good walks each day and they have a few sleeps in the day and then tend too crash out about 9pm after a good chew on a stag bar each dog is different but i am home in the days with my dog and every dog i,ve had has always had afew sleeps in the day are you over stimulating him, if you do want him too sleep maybe isolate him in a nice comfy area and ignore him and see if he goes off then, hope it helps x

Hi and welcome Smile

When you say he doesn't sleep, do you mean he's on the go all day long or do you mean he lies down but doesn't actually fall asleep?

Just be glad that he sleeps through the night! My old boy Jethro has always had massive problems with sleeping at night and is medication for it..I wouldn't wish that on anyone! Surprised

I would say that if he doesn't sleep at all during the day, and he's getting good long walks, then he's hyperactive. 9 times out of 10 that'll be down to his food.

What are you feeding him & when?

Not sleeping during the day is a bit unusual
