Size is annoying me

right lemmy's size is annoying me now. he stands 15"from floor to shoulder and base of tail to neck is 21" and he weighs 2.5 stone. according to the books he is about the right size but some of your pics your dogs look massive compared to lemmy. he still fits on your knee

true staffs are actually quite small dogs, when you think of the breed standard

get a pick with you or your oh next to him so we can see better

He's the right size! Staffs shouldn't be huge dogs, they were once described to me as 'Pocket Battleships', small & compact but packing a helluva lot of power!

Lemmy is gorgeous no matter what size he is. Tinkerbell is 14" tall and only weighs 12.5kgs she is a tiny staff but still within the breed standard! Lemmy is still so young though!

Size is relative, anyway. Some of the fiercest staffs I've known were quite small - Bandit's mother was like a whippet compared to some, but she could clear a show ground with her temperament - she really didn't like dogs she didn't know!

When we got Dempsey I originally wanted a really BIG bully. However, there were just so few litters (decent ones) around. I got Dempsey knowing that his dad was huge but his mum quite small. Dempsey has turned out to be a middleweight (31 kilos) but strong as an ox & full of character - wouldn't have him any other way!

well thats ok then cos there are acouple of staffs round here and they tower above him and are a lot wider. i just thought i had a toy version LOL

He's still just a baby and will continue to grow for awhile now. Pics can be misleading as well.

Why would this bother you? Surely its a good thing you got what you expect when you get a Stafford.

He sounds about right Male Staffs should be 15-16", you will find over the next 6 months he will fill out more.

But personally I would be dissapointed if I got staffy and it ended up bigger that 16", it's really then getting into American Pitbull size if they are any bigger and everybody assumes you got a pitbull then. Its also more likely that you will attract attention from the police and dog wardens and more likely to get your staffy took off you if they are bigger too.

i love my "wee man" it just seemed that other dogs were bigger but like you say pictures i supose can be misleading i know sometimes lemmy looks older and bigger than he is but just for your amusement heres a couple of pic anyway. my face was wet when i put him down those legendary staffy kisses

thatll be the saucage on saturday morning and the roast pork for todays dinner he does get dog food just weekends he has a treat. he likes to be carried like that. he thinks i'm stupid he makes it look like he wants up for a cuddle and to give me kisses but really he is after my locket. he likes to suck it for some reason daft dog
