Should I be worried?
My 2 year old staff has had really bad diarrhoea for the last 3/4 days. I have starved him for 24 hrs and theres still no change. Ive rang the vet and have to take him up this afternoon to be checked over. As the title of this post says 'should I be worried'? Hes currently on my knee and feels quite cold, inside his ears are white not pink as usual and his gums arent as pink either. I just hope hes picked up a tummy bug and it isnt anything more sinister

Re: Should I be worried?
Thanks Janey. As its friday that was the earliest appointment they had. Im not taking him, im going to make the OH. Im sitting with tears now so will be no good to anyone. I hate the thoughts of him being bad in the same way I do about my kids x

Re: Should I be worried?
Poor Mikey.
I'd be the same as you, worrying my head off. But you'll probably find he'll just need an injection (funny how there's an injection for everything!) and a special diet for a couple of days. The prescription dog foods they do in the vets are excellent for firming up the runs, even though they're pretty expensive. Also, Chappie dog food is sspposed to do the same thing!

Re: Should I be worried?
Hi all. Been to the vet and its nothing major. He has given Mikey 2 lots of antibiotics to take and says after them he should be fine. Probably just something he has picked up

Re: Should I be worried?
Great news, thanks for the update. They are a worry, worse than kids (but I haven't any kids to compare too ) but I can imagine! Xx
