Woody displays inappropriate behaviour!
just got back from a walk with Izzy and blue staffy Riley. after about an hours play Woody became fascinated with Riley's behind and kept mounting him - even Mr Lipstick made an appearance. Shocked/mortified was not the word!
why would he do this, he was castrated before Xmas and, perhaps my naivety, i didnt think this would happen! he hasnt done it before ever to another dog, why now!

Re: Woody displays inappropriate behaviour!
Taz was castrated and when Cassie is in season he will still mount and knot with her (behind my back) Its either the other male had the scent of a female on him or it is dominance if it is dominance just be careful and nip it in bud because if he does it to another dog that is not so tolerant it could end badly.

It's dominance. Is Riley castrated?
It's SO embarrassing when your nice, macho dog mounts another dog!

You've taken the balls but not the bat, so to speak.
Humping is useally a matter of dominance and needs training to be corrected. My boy who isn't castrated has never dominance humped another dog and he goes mental if another dog tries it on with him.

first time Woody has ever done it too so there is always a first time! as the only time he has ever snarled was when another male tried to do it to him he didnt like it done to him. every time he tried it he he got put back on the lead leaving the other 2 to play which he wasnt happy about - hopefully this was enough for him to know it was not acceptable - no repeat today thank god
