Firework displays Empty Firework displays

Are any of you going to a firework display?

I have one right near to me and it's free, but as i live on the first floor, I may aswell just look out the window and avoid the crowds.
Fortunately the fireworks have been very few and far between and Lola is getting more comfortable with the sound, here's hoping she does so well on the night.

It's also my sisters birthday, we used to say instead of the stork bringing her, she came on a rocket Laughing

There is a firework display quite near to me but I can see it from my window so I dont need to go. Thankfully I'm off work tomorrow night so I'll be home with my babies. Millie has always been fine with them and will sit at the window watching but have no idea how Bella will be. She does watch Millie quite a lot and copies her with some things so fingers crossed.

its my neices birthday as well on bonfire night. as well as the display and fir there is a fairground too on the park at the end of the street and her dad told her that all the world was having a party just for her birthday. she beleived him too. she's 10 this year and laughs at herslef for being so gullable.

my sons friend gets married tomorrow too and so a lot of people will be at the reception but there are quite a few people having parties and fireworks so we will see how mahy people stick around at the wedding. it'll be a shame if a lot leave. matthew cant cos he's the best man

ok.......it must be another UK thing. What's with all the talk of fireworks? Is it a celebration of something?

Here in Aus, we usually have fireworks to celebrate New Year, and Australia day.

the fireworks over here were usualy just for bonfire night. its a historical thing about a guy called guy fawkes who plotted with a group of people to blow up parliament but it failed he was caught. anyway we have big bonfires and make a facsmile to burn on the fire and set the fireworks off it is all to signify the blasts and things that would have come from parliament if he had succeeded. now though fireworks a pain in the backside because they are set off for no good reason other than people can. they start setting them off in gardens and fields as soon as they go on sale in october and that will be it lots of fireworks nealry every night from now till new year

remember remember the 5th of november
gunpowder treason and plot

cant remmebr the rest someone will finish it for me

We went to one this evening, there was a big one in the football ground, would have cost us £15 just to get in and watch it. So we did like everyone else did and stood on the beach opposite and watched from there. Kids got bored and cold hanging around though so we ended up leaving half way through the display. There were a few bonfires lit on the beach though and people letting small fireworks off on the beach which kept the children reasonably entertained until the main display.

We have also been invited to my parents house tomorrow for a bonfire party but we won't be going. They won't be starting it until 7ish and i is a 50 min drive away so will be too late for our children. My sisters children are older than my two and everyone seems to forget what it is like to have young one's who need their beds.

we have the world fireworks competition here in Blackpool in Aug/Sept i think -never bothered going as i dont really like them. think it stems from being a young child with earache and being forced to go to a display with my parents and every time one went off i was in agony!

i shall be snuggling up on the sofa with my boy and the fire on in my pj's with the blinds shut and my tv on loud - no idea how Woody is going to react yet as he was in kennels this time last year!
