any one have any ideas wats iup with roo
hi guys, well to cut a long story short, i took roo for a walk about 5.30pm was out about 20 min, fetched her home and we had to pop out, so i stuck her in the kitchen where she always goes when we go out, on our return my hubby noticed both her outer eyes are swollen, her fur in parts is stuck on end, like shes been chewing it and she keeps scratching herself, we have checked for fleas but shes clear, this is the second time this has happend since we have owned her, shes eating, drinking been fussy etc etc ,but just seems to be moving about a lot more than usual and is acting a bit odd, her fur is like some ones combed it back on its self, i dont feel she needs a vet because shes well in her self, i just wondered if its mange

I don't think it's mange, you'fd have had more symptoms than that, like hair loss & red, itchy skin.
I think it's more likely something you're coming into contact with either on your walks or at home. Many plants can cause allergic reactions, but so can things like soap powder!
If she's ok in herself, I'd leave it a couple of days to see how she gets on. Obviously if it doesn't clear you'll have to ask a vet for tests (ie a skin scrape/blood tests). Sometimes just changing a washing powder will clear up reactions like this, or wipe her down with a damp cloth when you get back from your walks.

thanks for that ill see how she goes, on having a closer look at her one the areas around one of her teats looks very sore, also iv just noticed when she is laying on her side she has pinkish blotches starting from under her chin and going right down her tummy, i think its a reaction to some thing but not sure what her muzzle looks a bit sore too

Whoa! That may well be it! Dempsey's the same, and so was Bandit.........if the grass has been freshly cut it releases a LOT of sap (that's why you get such a strong smell from cut grass) & so many short-coated dogs get a reaction to it - some just slightly sore paws, but others get it really bad. As soon as you get in from a walk, get some warm water in a bowl & pour a little salt into it. Gently wipe any area that has come into contact with the grass (ie feet, legs, belly. throat) with a white paper towel & then dry thoroughly with a clean towel.

thanks i will try that, we have avoided that area today because she still has a few lumps her fur does look strange but better than it did, her eyes are not swollen any more but she is still itchy, so will just keep a eye on her and see how she is tomorrow
