Brigitte Bardot criticised after trying to save bull terrier who attacked a baby

another irresponsible owner, innocent child hurt and dog sentenced to death because of people's stupidity
this article sounds so negative no word is mentioned about the fact that you must be utterly STUPID to leave an adult dog you've got for three weeks near the baby!!!
'Bardot's controversial views and strong right-wing opinions on immigration and homosexuality mean she is rarely out of the media spotlight in France.' - what does it matter in this case ?? they just want to show that there's no point in listening to her opinions, because she's always been weird...
I don;t really know if I agree with what she says, but the point here is - when will people learn that such behaviour isn't dog's fault? these parents should go to jail for what they did!
poor, poor child and poor dog

Re: Brigitte Bardot criticised after trying to save bull terrier who attacked a baby
Unfortunatly there are so many people out there who dont have a clue how to bring up their dogs or children. (Look at the riots we just had)
As you say why was the dog left alone with a 4yr old???
Even worse a dog that they only owned for three weeks thats just beond belief. Whats worse the dog had previously eaten his last owner when he died, so the dog was used to feeding on human to stay alive by the sounds of it.
Just unreal that they are not blaming the owners. Instead yet again its bull terrier breed and the owners of bull terriers who has to pay for whats happened. An the dog who should have been cared for better after what had already happen is now being PTS, really is quite sick the way these cases are delt with and written about in the media.

The sad thing is she says;
But Bardot, 77, told local paper La Voix du Nord: "This dog should be imprisoned for life rather than be put down.
"It is living in appalling conditions and in a state of distress because it has been deprived of all contact with other animals or humans.
Wouldn't it be fairer on the poor dog just to be pts, rather than being imprisoned for life! When will people learn

Re: Brigitte Bardot criticised after trying to save bull terrier who attacked a baby
I don't know what to think about what she says really... I know where she's coming from, that the animals have the same right to live as humans etc. but people in prisons have really good conditions (many times better than some people outside...) but it won't be the same with dogs.
kennels and shelters are already full and we have ordinary and not aggressive dogs being pts because of the lack of space and funds, and people not interested in adopting dogs.
what she says is impossible. maybe it's right but not possible.

yes dog eat previous owners face to survive, i don't understand why the new owners were not informed about it before adopting the dog...
rescue wanted to get the dog adopted..they did, now a baby is hurt..
to me the dog should be pts, locked for life? what life? living in a cage like that its no a life.
yes bb is wierd, she and lots of her followers..
