Anyone tried this, please help me make my decision
Been in touch with Bark busters regarding training both Chloe and Blake they sound a good company...
They will charge me a one off payment of 325pounds and that gives 1 year of training in home for both dogs.....
A behaviourist visits for a 3 hour session with both dogs which is an assessment and then writes a training program...
In Chloe"s case he will bring other dogs with him to sort out her aggression, and teach her not to pull on the lead etc.. They will come with the family on walks etc...
In Blake's case he will teach him sign and vibrating collar use.....
They will also teach both dogs all they need to know for the KC good citizen award schemes....
For an extra 95 pounds they will give a lifetime guarantee if any training is required ( new and old problems ) for the life of the dogs....
My only worry is these people who won't allow dogs upstairs or on the bed etc.... Chloe is a dog we know that, but she is also our pet, and she is a family member.... I worry they will demand we stop her being a pet
Your thoughts guys, we do take all your opinions into account as staffy people your help is invaluable...

never had to use anything like this but it doesnt sound too bad to me. i dont think its that they will stop them being pets they just know the behaviours that work best. im sure if you were adamant about letting them upstairs they could work it into the programme. sounds like it will really help you with blake's deafness

Yeah sounds all good and well, But do you really need training for the rest of the year ? Once the dogs are trained there trained! All you got to do Is keep on top of It, There dog training classes that are alot cheaper and results are Just as good!

I think it would really help you with Blake, and the website looks ok. I it just depends on if you're willing to fork out that sort of money.
As sho for them insisting that you dont allow Chloe on the beds and upstairs, when you're paying that kind of money, they have to work with you fairly and accommodate yout wishes too.

i think it will be a good idea if only for the help with the deafness if your dog has no problems regarding the bed than there will be no need to change anything in my eyes

Yes, I agree. They can't dictate to you the way you share your home with your dogs. Personally, I think that if you want your dog to share your bed, you stop them, if you're not bothered about it then there's no problem.
As to going upstairs, that's a rather silly assumption that being upstairs somehow makes them 'higher' than you in the 'pack' (a concept I don't believe in). Surely, the way you interrect with your dog is the key to whether they respect you or not, not whether they look at you from the top of the stairs!

Re: Anyone tried this, please help me make my decision
My girl is a lover there isnt a nasty bone in her body she never went to training only puppy classes and shes the best natured dog ever.
My boy has always been dominant he went to puppy classes has been well sociolised all his life had a trainer waste of time and money his behaviour has always been there some are just like that hed stand side by side with another dog but isnt happy to do so as soon as im distracted or he got the chance bingo you can never change that.
Having said that id consentrate on your boy I think from what you have posted your doing a great job with him its specialised what he needs not someone who claims to know what there doing id just be a little wary about paying the full amount prior when you dont know if there any good a good trainer would surely show you there worth first. there are too many people out there willing to take your money

Re: Anyone tried this, please help me make my decision
Gem I proper professional dog trainer that knows what they are doing, You cant beat there expert help, And the right dog trainer can train 99.9% of ALL dogs! Sometimes you may get 1 dog thats Just to aggressive for any sort of training due to the way hes been brought up or abuced etc, But Almost all dogs CAN be trained, And with the RIGHT trainer Its worth paying the money, If there rights speak for themselves! And they can Guarantee results! Meaning If doesnt work, THEY DONT GET PAID! Only fair for that sort of money! They give you guarantee with ALL there work! Remember alot of people get this bit confuced or dont know this bit! The dog trainer trains you! To train the dog! Because your one whos with the dog all the time! You have to put time effort to train the dog properly with right methods you been taught! Alot of people get taught methods by the dog trainer! They try there own thing or say! That doesnt work without even trying It! Then say the dog trainers no good! I stick by my views! YOU CANT BEAT PROFESSIONAL HELP!

Chloe If they offer you guarantees of there work, Meaning If doesnt work you get your money back, If there not offering you any guarantees, I wouldnt go with them, For that sort of money there charging, They should be able to offer you references videos of them In action, And they should work round YOU! Meaning you cal the shots, I checked website they look professional, But WITHOUT NO GUARANTEES AND REFERENCES! Wouldnt touch It, But with references and guarantees go for It, Just like was saying to gem, You cant beat professional help!

Re: Anyone tried this, please help me make my decision
Another thing Chloe , The money there charging you, They should offer you a trial FREE OF CHARGE! To prove how good they are, Im no business expert, But I run my own carpet cleaning business with my dad, And we charge very good money, And we always says If your not happy with our work we come back and clean the carpets, If your still not happy Jobs on us! Meaning for price with charge all our works guaranteed with references as well! And we even offer a demonstration, Point of story like saying they should offer you a trial! For that sort of money there wanting to charge you! If there that confident there that good! Good luck .

If thats true then I most certainly wouldn't deal with them and certainly wouldn't pay for my dog to be abused like that. A real trainer has no need of such methods of ' training'

I don’t like the idea of you having to pay all your money at one bash, sounds off to me, if the company is as good as they make out to be, then yeah a free trial to show you, then the training starts, and if your happy with the training then you would continue to pay, instead of being forced to pay the £300 at the beginning ..

Re: Anyone tried this, please help me make my decision
Well guy's changed my mind and decided instead to use this trainer http://www.dog-whisperer.me.uk/index.htm
He came out to Chloe spent two hours with her, got her walking on a loose lead within ten minutes ( he used a soft rope slip lead ) She didn't approve at first, but after a few minutes was fine... She is now walking on a loose lead..
He then brought his dogs out of the car.. pip a border collie and buster an airdale... Chloe at first was stiff and not very social, he brought his pip closer etc let them sniff...... Anyway within 90 mins Chloe, Buster and Pip were happily playing on the park off lead together....... Success..... He explained dogs either avoid, fight or ignore.... He showed us Chloe's body language and said a short lead was leaving her no other option but fight..... All round I would recommend him..... He charged us 90 pounds which was two hours and travel to Derby
