Bruno Is Coming A Complete Nightmare To Take Out
When I walk Bruno, He pulls most of the time as if he has to get everywhere fast. For this i have tried the squeaky toy, treat and stopping and walking the other way nothing is working, he just seems to go deaf on me.
He still jumps up at people, he never off his lead because he would send people flying. We tell him no in a firm voice but he just goes in deaf mode. It is getting to the stage where noone wants to walk with us and people cross the road. OH won't pay for training. Yet he will pay for fishing
So for now i taken to walking on our own.
He has a long training lead and a short chain one, and he is walked on a harness as well .
any advice please as I am getting to stage where I don't enjoy walking him anymore, OH hasn't got time to help train him

With the pulling you can try to place an object in front of him such as an umbrella to prevent him from trying to go ahead. If that doesn't work place a small treat or piece of food in your hand and hold it in front of him to keep his attention.
I almost always make Suki sit and wait before introducing her to new people so she won't get over excited and jump on them. Don't know if this will help since all dogs are different.

Have you tried using a check chain as a last resort?

If he goes to jump up, say "heal" or whatever word you choose to use, and turn sharply away, giving the lead a quick jerk at the same time. Then stop & make him sit. Once he's calm you can turn back & try again.

I also make harv sit and wait when meeting new people, as it calms him down. Have you tried a 'halti' as a lot of people of here say that they work really well?

As the other have said try and keep calm and objective even when he is playing up and getting you wound up, try not to let it bother you if your fustrated or angry he will pick up on it and be even worse.
Haltis do work great, only needs a small correction each time. Timing is essential and picking up on your dogs behaviour right away.
Is he excited before he leaves the house just at the thought of leaving? If so this is first port of call, make sure you are calm and get him calmed down and sat waiting in a calm manner before opening the front door. Then same again make sure he is calm before closing the door. Then make sure he is calm as you start.
Correcting bad behaviour and reward good behaviour, try and make it very clear what you want from your dog an dont get in panic or lose your cool.
Does he behave and do what he is told in the house?
Have you done much training with him? (Indoors and Outdoors)
How often and for how long do you walk him?
What food is he on?
Some of these questions may seem irrelevant to your issue but to be honest the listed questions have an effect on all areas of a dogs life.

"Why do dogs pull on the lead? Because we follow... " I remember the first time I heard that phrase - it's so simple, and so true.
I know you have tried several things, but for how long did you manage to always stop and walk the other way every time he started pulling? I know with myself that that's not a method I could do consistently over any amount of time. It only takes letting him pull once to reward the pulling and undo your training... A tip is to put both harness and collar on him and when he's on the harness he's allowed to pull and when on the collar you do the training. That way you have an option to get from A to B if you for some reason need to get there in a hurry. You might need to start your loose leash training in an empty (or near empty) parking lot, school ground or similar, somewhere with few distractions. Then you progress to more distractions once he's walking nicely when you train in an isolated spot. (Use yummy treats or a game of tug with a tug toy when he's waking nicely as well as turning around when he pulls, dogs work far better for rewards than to avoid something unplesant)

I went to a shop today and got a harness called a Sporn Harness, designed for dogs that pull.
http://www.sporn.com/cgi-bin/commerce.exe?preadd=action&key=SPUS100
It was expensive around $48.. considering what goes in to making it, but Winston trots along lovely with it on....we just took him for a lovely long walk in it. It is made in America but I guess you can buy them anywhere in the world. The shop did not like halties .. and I did try one on Winston and he just went bonkers with it on. Put this Sporn harness on him, and he loved it, as it isn't on his face.
