Puppy complete v Adult complete
Our Orijen Puppy will last for about another couple of weeks. Will it be ok to switch him on to an adult complete when this is finished. He's 5 months now and 14 kilos.

Re: Puppy complete v Adult complete
Personally, at only 5 months old, I would keep him on puppy food until he is at least 6-8 months old.
I'm sure others will be able to advise you further.

Different brands of food sugest different ages to swap - I think the main difference is the protein levels.
I'd see what is sugested with Orijen (or whichever brand you want to use).

Personally I would be happy to feed adult, I have heard there isn't much difference to puppy/adult feed anyway Xx

I'd put him on adult, when Sierra was getting wet and dry food she was on adult the same as Bailey!

I would keep him on puppy for a bit, the vitamin levels and also protein and fat levels are different. Expecially on a biologically appropriate food such as Orijen where they have done a lot of research and formulated the food to suit different life stages xx

Re: Puppy complete v Adult complete
At 6 months we stopped buying puppy kibble and moved to the adult one, we changed brands too so did it gradually, but now were on just adult kibble and alls been fine, Percy seems to enjoy crunching up the larger sized kibble too.

Thanks for the replies.
What age would you suggest changing to adult complete?

Re: Puppy complete v Adult complete
Tommy went through the change from Wainwrights puppy over to F4D Adult Complete at around 6 months + 2 weeks where we were mixing it and no problems at all , he's very nearly 8 months now and on Wainwrights adult (they both got bored of the F4D)
If you want to put your mind at rest just go another couple of months to be sure

You should keep him on puppy food until 12 months to make sure he develops properly
