Possible Operation.................
hiya,
Still having problems with Jemma leaking from her vulva.
Shes now been on antibiotics for 2 weeks, and i thought her infection had gone, but today shes leaking again.
i rang the vet, who told me i had to make another appointment for a check up. if the infection has not gone, they will have to open her up to see whats happening.................not gd.
On the plus side, i can ask for more advice re her hayfever, as shes been really itchy for 2 days, even tho shes on pirition. not sure wht they will do for her but i mite as well make the appointment worth my while!

Re: Possible Operation.................
yea i no, i jus really want to get her sorted out, feel so bad for her
its also costing me!!
i rang the rescue, to see where i stood re all the costs from the vet, they told me to ring my insurance........
i rang the insurance, who told me tht as she was spayed b4 the insurance was taken out, they will not pay out.
i went down to the rescue to speak with the manager, who was not in. the woman who was there was very helpful, sayin tht the manager wud ring the vets tomorrow and if they confirm the infection is due to the spay they should be able to claim on the charity insurance, so hopefully i wont be out of pocket.......

Re: Possible Operation.................
yet another expensive trip..........
Jemma is now on a different type of antibiotic called Trimacare,
and is also on steriods for her allergy, called medrone.
any one had these before?
they are hoping this lot of antibiotics will work, and also hope tht the steriods will calm her allergy down.
only thing is, surely the allergy will come back wen the steriods are finished?

I don't know, haven't ever experienced it before. Lets hope this does the trick and she won't have to have the op. Did you sort out the insurance with the shelter?

Poor you & Jemma! I really hope it's sorted out soon.
Mine has just started a loyalty card! You get one stamp for every £25 you spend & when you have a full card (10 stamps) you get £25 off the next bill. Not much, but it's better than a kick up the a*s

Re: Possible Operation.................
Skibadee had medrone for about a week, all her itchiness cleared up but I did some research and didnt like the look of the side effects so took her off them gradually after a week - http://www.bestpet.co.uk/detailed_product.asp?id=13420
Piriton never worked for her but I read an article a while back which stated they only really work for about 20% of dogs and also can cause excessive drowsiness. I use these - http://www.boots.com/en/New-Era-Hayfever-Allergic-Rhinitis_22490/
I just does them up on two in the morning and two in the evening and although there are still some visible symptons they are much less itchy!
