I'm back!
I'm home from my 2 month long trip to Finland. I had a great time and didn't really want to leave. It's nice to be home with the boyfriend and pets, though.
This is what welcomed me home:
How sweet is that?
Plus one handsome man and three sweet pets. Saxon was so excited to see me. He was jumping up and licking me. He calmed down after a bit but continued to lick me every time he walked by me. Bowie (the fat cat) has been following me around and laying down on my lap or next to me. Ziggy (the small cat) licked my nose yesterday morning and nuzzled me this morning, during the day she doesn't seem to realize I'm here, though.
Without further adieu, here are some pictures of the pets:
While Bowie and Saxon were bonding over a nap:
Ziggy was grooming herself under the desk:
Saxon getting playful with Bowie:
Bowie is not quite impressed...
Belly!!
There has been a heat wave here in Maine (like much of the northern hemisphere) and Saxon is certainly feeling it!
"Mom, please turn of the hot!"
So we got an AC, and Saxon was pleased:
"I love this new AC"
"I am a happy dog!!"
And I'm a happy woman to be home again with the pets!!

Re: I'm back!
While I respect responsible breeders furthering the breed, I usually adopt my pets from shelters or families that will take them to the shelter if they don't find a home. I found Saxon on Uncle Henry's when he was 5 months old. The family claimed to have gotten him from a breeder but didn't have his papers. They claimed the breeder was in Livermore Falls and Knock Out Staffies is only 20 minutes from there. So, I looked on Knock Out Staffies' website and Saxon looks like he could fit right in with those dogs! Their female, Polly (http://www.knockoutstaffords.com/assets/img_1379.jpg) looks just like a slimmer Saxon. I emailed them to see if maybe he is one of their dogs. He's such a great dog and I would be really interested to know his history!Pittboss wrote:Did you get saxon at knockout staffies in maine?

We got that desk for $15 at a yard sale! The boyfriend wants to sell it, but I love it!
Winston's tummy is to die for! He may even be spottier then Saxon!

I think its great that you were able to rescue him.I purchased Blue from Knockout's because I wanted a true staffy with papers. There are 2 many Amstaffs being called staffies here in the states.
I agree with you that Polly looks just like him and I'm betting Gatti is his dad.I don't think Gatti is papered and that would explain Saxon not having any.The owner of Knouckout's is melissa and she was great with us.I'm sure if there is a way to find out who the previous owner was she could tell you if saxon is one of her dogs.
When i saw your pics of saxon and that you were from maine I thought of polly right away.I did a lot of research before finding knockout's and it is very unlikely that there is a staffy in maine that is not one of there's.I would suggest adding knockout staffies on facebook and maybe posting some pics for her to look at.Either way he is a handsome fella and is a lucky to have found a great home with you.

Re: I'm back!
Thanks, Pittboss! I think Saxon is pretty special and I think we are the lucky ones to have found him!! I am still in touch with the family that I got Saxon from and have emailed them and Knockout. I'm really interested to hear back from both. Thanks for letting me know about Knock Out Staffies!

Re: I'm back!
So sorry that we were not the breeders you got Saxon from I hope you find him I remember my husband bringing home the advertisement from a store here in Maine . We did talk to the man but I did not really feel as though he knew too much about the breed . All of our dogs here at Knock Out are Fully AKC registered . Gatti is actually the male pick we got the 1st time we bred Mosley outside our girls , from a breeder /friend we know in Mass. I can not believe the people you got him from don't have any of the guys info ???? Hope you find your boys breeder ???? Melissa

Thanks for this response and for all of your prompt email responses! I am very impressed with your beautiful Staffords and was a bit disappointed that Saxon didn't come from you guys (and a bit surprised, he looks soo much like your dogs!). The family I got him from was not very familiar with the breed and did not get Saxon's papers (if he even had any) or remember anything the breeder told them except that the dam's father was Volstar Kennel's Blastaway Moonlight Rover - "Rex." I haven't heard back from them other then them saying one of the female pups may have gone to Maine.
Do you perhaps have a number or email address from the advertisement that your husband found?
I'm not soo concerned about finding his breeder, I was just curious. He is an amazing dog even if he didn't come from papered parents!
