Staffing x american bulldog
High I've rescued a staffy x american bulldog he was 18 months when we got him I'm so worried that he'll be looked at and be classed as an xl bully. He's very friendly and nosy lol I'm new to this site so not sure how to put pics up

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum.
These are the official guidelines..
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/official-definition-of-an-xl-bully-dog/official-definition-of-an-xl-bully-dog
Your dog must tick several (I think 75%) boxes before he can be classed as XL 'type'.
Do you have all the official documents from when you adopted him? Does it give his 'breed'?
One of the most important things is the height - if he's under 21" at the wither (top of the shoulder) he's unlikely to be classed as XL 'type'. In the meantime you could gradually get him used to wearing a muzzle - something I would recommend to anyone, with ANY breed. You never know when it may be needed. For example an accident where your dog is hurt & needs to be treated by a vet. Pain will cause the sweetest natured dog to bite!
If at all possible, enrol him in a dog training club (non-aversive trainers only) for his Kennel Club Good Citizen certificate. That will show you are a responsible owner. He'll already be neutered and hopefully you'll have insurance.
Having said all that, the chances of him being labelled 'type' are slim.
