I don't see Brindle puppies advertised anywhere

Hi!

I'm new to the forum. I've been endlessly watching dog and puppy videos for months, and we're hoping to get a staffy puppy around the end of July (when my husband will have 3 months off before his new WFH job).

We've always loved Brindle staffies, but all I'm seeing on listings is blue or sometimes tri coloured pups. Has anyone else noticed this? Any advice on finding Brindle pups?

Oh dear, you've touched on a real hobby horse of mine.

I have nothing against blues, but they account for (according to the Kennel Club Breed Records Supplements) approx. 80% of all registered Staffords.

I think your best bet is to look on Champdogs or send a message to the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club. Alternatively go to a couple of shows and speak to the owners/breeders of the dogs being shown.

You may need to go on a waiting list.

One breeder I know of is Elitebull. I think they're based in Birmingham.

The market is over run with blues Like Caryll I like blues but the breeding of them is becoming very dodgy I haven't seen any brindles for a long time.

There are still quite a few at shows and seem to do well along with pieds (red or black). But you really have to dig to find the breeders - it's a matter of knowing where to look.
