Good evening. Newbie here.
Hi.
Please meet little Bonnie our 11 week old bitch staffy.
Totally new to all this so apologies if anything is in the wrong place etc.
Just wanted to pick people's brains about what food and diet we should start looking at as she gets older.
We are still on the dry food given to us from her breeder and she does eat well and everything is okay when it comes out the other side. (sorry if Your having your tea)
For what it's worth she's on purina easy digestion.
However as a first time pup owner and first time staffy owner obviously I don't know if this stuff is any good. She is eating as I said so can't be too bad surely? Didn't want to rush changing her so after some advice please.
Everything I see online slates the dry food, is it really that bad?
Apologies this has probably been posted 1000s of times before.
Thanks in advance

Hi from me & Katy, welcome to our forum Bonnie looks like a lovely young lady If she's doing well on Purina keep her on it! Katy was on Wainwrights kibble & now on Eden Holistic kibble, never had a wet meat meal & does well. A raw diet would be good for most dogs & I'd love to do it but no freezer space!!

Re: Good evening. Newbie here.
Hello and welcome!
Congratulations on your new family member, she really is sweet !
As to the food, this link might help you to rate your feed
https://www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk/the-dog-food-directory
If you want to change, just don’t forget to transition progressively over at least a fortnight.
Unfortunately, it’s not just because they eat it that it’s a good feed (eating fast food every day is no good but most children wouldn’t be against it.)
Just take your time to find the feed that suits your girl, budget and lifestyle.

Re: Good evening. Newbie here.
Great point, not just children. . Thank you for the link. Will be sure to. Have a good read up on it. Thanks.
One other quick thing she has started doing... I have a border in the garden with blue slate stone. Bonnie is constantly picking up the stones and chewing them then Spitting them out. Never swallows or tried to swallow. I pressume this due to teething but its hard to listen to. I obviously try and tell her to drop etc just wondered if anyone has come across this before.

Re: Good evening. Newbie here.
With the border eating, does you girl have enough toys ?
The kong puppy teething sticks are good.
Mine liked to chew on cuddly toys, type kong knots.
I would really try to avoid/stop her from eating the borders

Yeah we are trying. It's not every time. She's got plenty of toys yeah. Couple of different kong ones and some knots. Yeah will keep an eye on it.
