Hello
Hi im CJ
We lost our beautiful boy a year ago last week and although it's still raw we're ready for another little staffy in our lives. The house just isn't the same without a wagging tail and daily mad hour.
After looking in the familiar places I've found the price for staffy pups has increased dramatically. Our Alfie was KC registered and from great Staffordshire lines and cost us 700 quid from a very respected and successful breeder.
I understand the increase in cost of living in 10 years but 1500 - 4000 for staffy pups is crazy.
I guess I've joined the forum to ask members if im out of touch or have a valid argument.
Are there still breeders out there who do it for the love of the breed and to share with others the experience of living with this wonderful breed.
Thanks
CJ

Re: Hello
Hi CJ from me & Katy. Welcome to our forum Sorry to hear that you lost your boy They are a big part of our lives.
The price of all breeds has gone crazy since Covid! Even what I class as mongrels (poos & doodles) aren't going for less than £3000 With the fashion atm you would struggle to find a litter of staffies that's not blue too!
Would you consider rescuing?

Re: Hello
Hi & welcome.
So sorry to hear about your boy - they leave such a hole in your life, don't they?
Although prices have risen sharply, no REPUTABLE breeder will charge more than £1500. I've seen adverts for blues for £4000, which is ridiculous & those breeders are NOT reputable.
Contact the Staffordshire Bull Terrier club & ask if they can point you in the right direction.

Thanks
Thanks for the replies guys.
We have considered rescues and we are on a few waiting lists for younger dogs. Although it breaks are hearts when we see the amount of older Stafford's in rescue we don't think we could go through losing one again after a couple of years. Losing Alfie was so tough
We are an active household and have lots of visitors human and canine alike so we would prefer a pup or younger dog we could work with.
Hopefully things will settle down a bit as the restrictions ease.
