Walking to heel
Looking for a local group of Staffy owners to give advice on how to train a dog to walk to heel, ideally could meet with dogs once COVID is sorted. Trying to help son with his 13 month bitch but she is so strong and pulls me.

Re: Walking to heel
Hi from me & Katy, where are you based? Staffies are very strong on the lead! You can try training by stopping & changing direction every time she pulls, takes forever to do a walk though. Another option would be to use a gentle leader or Halti but please don't just put it on her without her getting used to it & accepting it. It's not natural for them to have something round their nose & many people just put it on them & expect them to walk nicely but in fact they will fight against it & make it traumatic for both of you.
