Multi vitamin supplement
So I’ve been looking at multi vitamin supplements for Nifty.
First one purchased was a flop as it contains dry powdered egg (Nifty appears to be egg and chicken intolerant)
Looking at alternatives, I notice alot of supplements are offered as being for dogs and cats.
Do these 2 species really have similar nutritional requirements ?

Re: Multi vitamin supplement
Very similar except for taurine. Dogs can produce taurine, cats can’t, so if you're giving supplements for a cat you need to be careful.
Don't forget that the majority of a dog's vitamins and minerals come from its food, so supplements are only a failsafe & don't have to be exact. I personally would only add probiotics and joint supplements as unless there's actually a proven shortage of a specific vitamin or mineral their food should account for normal intake - and some vitamins can be bad in excess.

Re: Multi vitamin supplement
Thanks gilly
The reason I’m looking is that Nifty eats much less than recommended ration so I was thinking that a supplement would ensure she’s not missing anything.
I suppose the most sensible thing to do would be to do a blood test to check first.
