4 more weeks until my Staffy comes home!
Hi, good evening everyone.
I’m currently waiting to pick up my Staffy pup on the 16th June.
Having wanting a dog for 27 years, and not getting one as we lived in a tight flat with a small balcony in London, I thought it wouldn’t really be fair on the dog I get. Now living in a village in Durham, house with a big garden I thought about time! Staffy it is.
Just wanted to say hello to everyone
I have one question.. I have attached pictures of both mum and dad. My baby is the “Champagne” coloured... she’s named Angel. My thoughts were Staffordshire Bull terriers are generally shorter stockier with a wider head... Are the parents Am-Staffs?? Or do Staff Bull terriers comes slightly taller with narrower heads too? Just don’t want my Angel to get into the hands of pigs for looking like a pit? She had a pink nose too!
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: 4 more weeks until my Staffy comes home!
Hello and welcome.
Congratulations on your little Angel, soon to come home
If you should have the slightest question at all, please don’t hesitate to ask away.
With regards to different staffy builds, both of my girls are KC registered but whilst Nifty is very wide and stocky (probably more of balanced/bully build), Opium is a tiny bit taller but a much lighter and athletic build (more balanced/terrier build). I have posted pictures of my girls here
https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/t68278-photos-please
From what I can see in your photos, I’m guessing Angel isn’t KC registered and I don’t think either of the parents is a full staffy.
Dad looks like a big dog well over 16” which is a tall end staffy. By his build and head, I think he looks more like an Am-Staff so daddy looks like a staff, not a staffy.
As for mum, she does not have the right shaped ears. Despite how they are held, a staffy’s ear is sort of triangular shaped where the tips go to a point but hers are large and rounded more like a gun dog. Again she looks too big for a staffy and does not have a staffy head but there could be a bit of staffy in her.
One other thing, I’ve never seen a staffy litter with so many different coloured pups : brindle, black, dilute champagne and pied.
Whatever Angel grows up to be, just make sure she is as sociable and as well educated as possible.
She will brighten your every day no matter what breed she is

Re: 4 more weeks until my Staffy comes home!
Hi & welcome.
Three things;
1. Your pup looks so cute (but all the pups do!)
2. Neither mum nor dad look full staffords.
3. Please don't tell people that your pup's parents are AmStaff - they are banned in the UK (show version of the pit bull).
Nobody can say what your pup will look like as an adult, but try to make sure she is well trained & friendly. That way, nobody is likely to make a complaint.
