Hi!
Hello! I've been meaning to sign up for a while now. We've just had Betty spayed and I'm at home looking after her, so I thought this would be the ideal time!
Cheers,
Steve

Re: Hi!
Hi,
Thanks, she's doing well. She's almost back to her full feisty loony self!
We got her spayed late as she'll be 2 at the end of this month. She had a stomach operation when she was a pup so we felt bad putting her through it all again. She was terrible for eating everything and anything back then!
My family have always had Staffies and she shares a lot of their personality traits but she's got a very boisterous side. She loves being mischievous and rough and tumble play. She loves food, children and older women!
This is her with a t-shirt on to protect the stitches...

Hi & welcome. Glad you decided to join in!
You didn't spay her 'late'! You spayed her at precisely the right time! Early neutering causes more problems than it solves. Well done!
She looks a beauty.

Re: Hi!
Hi, thanks all! She had her 10-day post-op checkup tonight and is doing good. She's tired now after all the excitement of the vets - she still absolutely loves going there!
That's interesting about the spaying age. Most of what I read on the Internet said to get the best benefits of spaying, it should ideally be done asap. I sort of ignored that and felt a bit selfish for not having it done sooner. I just felt that because she was growing and developing so well as a pup, I didn't want to mess her hormones up. Also, as I said, I didn't want to put her through another op so soon after her first one.

Re: Hi!
I personally think you did it at the right age, gave her time to mature 1st. I had Katy done at 2yrs & she hasn't had any issues regarding growth. The only issue since then is she's not that keen on going to the vets

Hi and welcome.
She is gorgeous. I completely agree with what everyone else said. That’s exactly what it was recommended to us by a vet specialist. Glad she is recovering nicely
