Hi Everyone

My name is Geoff, my wife and I got our staffy, called Buster on New Year’s Eve and he’s great but I do have a question not sure if this is the right place to ask or not but can anyone throw some light on why he cry’s in the car all the time

Hi & welcome!

He could be crying for two reasons...
1) he might be unsure of the car
2) he might be over-excited.

Staffords are quite vocal & use a variety of whines, grumbles & barks just to interact with you.

Thank you for your reply

I don’t think he’s over excited but I could be wrong and he jumps into the car ready to go, even had my wife sit with him but still whines and grumbles.

Thanks again

Hello and welcome from us.
Congratulations on your new addition to your family.

If it’s any help, my Nifty will cry and whine when we arrive at our destination. She’s just really excited and can’t wait to get out of the parked car.
But I assure you she travels well and has alot of car mileage Smile

Could be excitement.
Are you also wanting advice of how to stop it?

I know a couple of ways.

One way is to keep stopping the car as soon as Buster starts. Ignore him and try moving again after he settles. Stop if he starts again.

Best to do this when you have time to stop a lot. To get to learn the connection of making noise makes the car stop and he gets ignored.

Also helps if you have a get in the back seat command to stop him coming forward for attention when stopping.
