Hero the Australian Staff
Has anyone seen the disturbing story doing the rounds on FB?
There is a Staffy in Australia who killed a daschund. There is a very upsetting photo of the Staffy after it happened and it's disturbing.
So of course the daschund owner has gone public and said the dog is dangerous. However since then a few more details have come to light. Evidently the daschund was one of three loose dogs who ran up to the Staffy who was on his lead and wearing a harness.
There is also CCTV which appears to prove the Staffy side of events.
Now there is a global petition to save Hero. Such a sad event but I'm glad people are looking beyond the headline and horrific picture.

Yes, I saw that. Although it's sad and I can understand the Dachshund owner's distress, many staffords don't like being approached by strange dogs.
Hopefully she'll just be asked to muzzle her dog in public?

I did see the footage & 3 dogs running up loose was obviously too much for the poor staffy Obviously press will blame our breed

Re: Hero the Australian Staff
I have been following the story ( I’m in Australia). It’s no surprise they blame the staffy just because of the breed . Three dogs came running and barking at them, including a bigger dog, I believe a Labrador. The staffy was just defending the family and itself. As far as I can tell he didn’t provoke the attack in any way. Just because it’s a staffy it doesn’t mean it at fault. I’m very passionate about it in case you can’t tell

I'm just glad people are looking at the story behind the event. I hope the petition will do some good.
