Hi Myself and my partner have just adopted a 7yr old Staffie Cross who is a sweetheart. We live in Dublin Ireland. Our dogs name is Puddin' and she our first owned dog together. We a have fostered before though. I'm hoping to get some advice and help from fellow Staffie owners.

Puddin' seems to be itchy and uncomfortable. She has been a bit stressed after she was bitten by another dog. She is also licking herself slot too. Do we need to go to the vet? She is on food for dry skin and has fish at least once a week.

Could be just allergy Vin had been awful this year but probs best take her to vet just to check her out encase. Has she any visible spots or marks where she is itching? You could try some Kifir on her food its a probiotic yoghurt available from most supermarkets if some yeast present in gut it sometimes comes out in skin this will hep the gut settle

Thanks there are no visible irritation but she will stand on top of you till you scratch around her tail and she has flakes of skin in her coat after brushing. I'll ring the vet this morning.

Ah, the scratch around the tail might just be a staffy feel-good itchy spot. The flakes could be due to bad quality food before you took her on.
I hope it’s nothing that a good dose of TLC can’t fix quickly

They like a good scratch round the tail i always gave mia fish 2x a week  and coconut oil 2-3 times a week but introduce her at first as not to upset the stomach
