They grow up too fast

Opium is 5 months old and I get the impression that she’s growing up even faster than Nifty did.

Had our 3rd puppy school lesson today and she’s miles ahead of all the others. No problems for any of the obstacles (bottle tunnel, suspended bridge, see-saw, tunnel, etc) and she’s already sitting and lying down on command, we’re currently working on the Stay command. She’s probably ready for obedience classes but will stay in puppy school until she’s 6 months old for the socializing. Even if she does prefer humans to the other dogs

Everyone says how pretty she is but most don’t recognise her as a staffy because of her colour.
I do love her to bits and she’s such fun, completely complementary to Nifty

She is growing up beautifully obviously she will excel in her class as staffies are fast learners & seem to be more intelligent than other breeds

Sounds like a mix of great puppy with great owner!

Oh yes, so happy they get on so well (despite staffy arguments, of course ! )
Definitely a good thing for Nifty too, the drive to the other end of the country to fetch Opium was well worth it.

UPDATE :

At 5 1/2 months old, Opium graduated out of puppy school into “education” classes. She was the youngest but did well on her first day, especially given that Nifty and OH were just the other side of the fence.

4 sessions later (last weekend), 2 of the instructors called me aside to ask what discipline I wanted to do with Opium afterwards (obedience, agility, etc). I replied that it would depend on Opium, I just wanted a well behaved dog under control, and to have lots of fun together.

As she’s still growing, she’s too young for agility so we have been invited to attend the obedience classes, at only 6 1/2 months old !
I am absolutely chuffed to bits, what a huge compliment to Opium. She’s such a great pup and I’m so proud of her

She’ll be off a few weeks to recover from surgery and then the sky’s the limit !
