Hello from Lucy's Dad :D
Hi Folks,
I have the pleasure of being this lovely wee lassie's Dad
She was a rescue dog and I am trying to make sure that I am giving her the very best life and care that I can.
Loves her walks and I recently took her on a solo camp... next time we'll take a bigger tent, as it took her ages to settle down to sleep in the two-man pack tent I usually take with me. She did have her own sleeping bag and everything but she still snuck into mine for cuddles lol
Looking forward to getting to know folks and learning even more about Staffies.

Hi and welcome from me and mine
Well done on your rescue - I'd love to hear more. Do you know much about her?
I love the thought of her snuggling into your sleeping bag

Hi & Welcome to the Forum from Flo and me
A Staffy with its own sleeping bag is new to me, normally they take over the human one as you found out I'm sure a bigger tent will be needed going forward too, Staffies do tend to starfish when sleeping
Well done on the rescue too, I'm certain you'll be having a life time of Staffy fun, any questions just ask away

Re: Hello from Lucy's Dad :D
WOW! So many replies, what a warm welcome, thank you
She is between two and three years old. As with most rescues her history is bit hit n miss. I think she has had a litter at some point, not sure...
She was rescued from a pound down south by a rescue charity and transported up here to another rescue charity (The Underheugh Ark near Gourock); it's great how all these rescues work together to save lives.
She was fostered before but unfortunately there were issues with the foster family's resident dog and she was given back to the rescue. I am in contact with the family and they are lovely people.
She does have issues with other dogs and I am doing my best to socialise her more; some dogs she is great with and will play happily with them, others she just takes an instant dislike to. She is great with pups and small dogs (loves wee French Bulldogs lol).
I had been looking to adopt a dog for a wee while and while I had never had a Staffie before I was familiar with the breed as a few friends have had them over the years and so I knew just how good they were. My previous experience is with Collies and Springers.
I saw her profile on the charity website and just knew she was the one. I visited the kennels where the rescue have their dogs cared for and met her and took her for a walk and knew within 10 mins that I would be taking her home with me
I went through the rescues' home check and was approved as a fosterer in January and I fully adopted my wee girl in April
She is due to be spayed in the next week or so.
Again, thanks for the very warm welcome

Hi welcome. I do a lot of wild camping but mainly during the winter months. I’ve not taken Gus yet as he shivers in the house if we don’t put the heating on for him
