Strange behaviour- growling Empty Strange behaviour- growling

Hi everyone.
So Debo is 6 now. He loves everyone. Typical staffy. Also loves females and is very selective when it comes to males. He's very jealous. The situation we notice recently is worrying for us. Will try to discribe it. When he's meeting with a dog and being all friendly with it, and someone start to stroke him, he will make a sound. Something like a growl from his stomach. And now when we are confused. Is it to tell the person, stop I'm busy with the dog or it's because someone is giving him attention, so it's make him feel more important, so hes letting the dog know back off.
He's very hyper and has difficulties to calm down.
Any ideas?

You say he's a jealous dog?

It could be that he's claiming the other dog as a friend & telling the human to back off.

When that happens, (if you're sure it is a growl) I wouldn't scold him but just quietly put his lead on and turn him away. Ask the owner of the other dog to also keep their dog away. Once you're sure that the mood is calm, introduce them again (on lead) in a controlled way, and both you & the other owner stroke your own dogs. If he growls, repeat.

Well, it's difficult to say what that sound is. He makes that sound also when he hangs on the rope holding it and swinging. He's always on the lead when introducing dogs. He loves humans so he's more jealous of them, for example if we try to stroke other dog he will come in between us and the dog

I don't suppose you can get a video of it (with sound)?

Most dogs will growl a bit whilst playing, but I wouldn't be happy if he's growling because of jealousy.

Will try to video him next time. He's very vocal while playing. For us it looks like his trying to warn the dog from coming closer cause human is paying attention to Debo
