Lexi
We decided to let lexi go today. She was not keen on her breakfast and was walking very slow and her legs weak. She got her meds and perked up a bit but we know the vets are now closed to Wednesday and I didn’t want to make her wait any longer. It was just time.
She ate the turkey we were supposed to be having for dinner (whoops) and got her hugs and kisses and she had a little growl and bark at Billy which had us all in hysterics cause that’s just lexi all over and sums up her life perfectly.
She went very peacefully and is now under our favourite cherry tree in her big fluffy blanket.
Thank you all for the many years of companionship my beautiful sweet girl
(And thank you to all you forum users for supporting me through this and being good friends over the years)

Re: Lexi
Thanks. Ill admit im struggling a bit. How do you just stop looking after something you have had to for 14 years?
Ive heard her snore, smelt her farts, cooked her dinner, picked up her poo.....now nothing.
Ill not be getting another dog.
Sorry to be so emo. But i cant quite stop crying. I miss her.

Re: Lexi
I really feel for you. I know the pain they leave when they go. Just try to remember all the happy times you had and the fact you gave her a wonderful life.
It's such a huge loss and you need time to grieve. We are always here for you x
