talk about over the top! what's the matter with them? if a member of the public had been bitten (and apparently it wasn't a serious bite) there wouldn't have been anything like that sort of reaction.

A full police cordon & riot gear just to take two dogs - ridiculous!

The fact they aren't letting the owners in to feed or give them water is beyond cruel. These dogs must be terrified. I would have thought the police have real criminals to find but obviously not.

Dda watch are involved, the whole thing is just so heartbreaking.

Blimey, what a waste of money for a situation clearly blown right out of proportion.

This makes me so sad and angry! Those poor dogs Sad how can a separate Incident cause them to want to take those dogs? Obviously a staffy hater by the looks of things! If I was the owner I know I’d be locked up for assaulting a police officer if they wouldn’t let me in my own home to see to see to Hank.

It's vile behaviour, those dogs have been locked in alone since weds and all their food and water has gone. The owner has begged to be allowed in to help the dogs and offered to bring them out muzzled but the police said no. The poor owners have slept in the garden to be close to their dogs. It's strange isn't it, the dogs are alone/scared/ dehydrated/hungry and have had to toilet in the flat.... It's almost as though the police want them to be aggressive when they come out???

The last I heard was that both dogs were sedated and removed by the police. I dread to think of what will happen to them.

They were offered a key but the police instead decided to smash a window. They were really provoking those dogs. Good to see lots of comments on the Humberside police fb page. I've just added one. This has upset me so much especially as the police are now changing their story. Instead of one dog bite now they are saying there were two bites... Later on there will probably be seven bites on the reports.

And later reports will say that one of their officers has been devoured by one of the dogs. This is complete madness, where has common sense gone?

Apparently the police forced their way into the flat on Thursday to arrest the dogs' owner. The dogs reacted predictably & bit the officer (one bite by each dog, neither apparently serious). They continued to arrest the female owner and then shut the dogs in the flat, calling out the armed response team.

They're also saying that one of the dogs is a banned breed under the DDA. Funny - they originally said that both were Staffordshire bull terriers!

Did they know the owner had dogs in the flat before they forced there way in? Because if they did anyone with common sense would let the owner be aware so she could move the dogs to another room because they were just reacting to them forcing there way in and grabbing there owner, I know hank would do the same.

Originally the police said there was one dog bite. After the press attention they revised their original statement to say both dogs bit and one is a banned breed.

To not allow anyone to enter the flat for 48 hours and allow those dogs to dehydrate and starve is unforgivable. They smashed a window instead of using the key as they were desperate for those dogs to attack so they could shoot them. The police have now issued a statement on their fb page and it's laughable. They say the dogs welfare is important to them....
