8 month old 'Indi' has a health problem that the vet is struggling to diagnose or fix :(
Hey Staffy lovers,
Our beautiful 8 month old girl is struggling with a health issue that the vets can not diagnose. It looks as though we may have to go to a specialist so I thought I would see if anybody might recognise the sypmtoms or offer some advice.
Indi has had a 'gagging' reflex since she was a few months old. This was brang up with the vets during her first few visits getting vaccinations etc and her throat was looked down during de-sexing. We were told that there was nothing wrong.
Indi proggresively got worse over the months and now has a strong weaze after exerting herself, throws up atleast 10 times a day and can not run too much before needing to lay down.
In the last 2 months the vet has had her on steroids, antihistamines, antinflamitries, antibiotics, stomach ulser pills and probiotics with still no sign of improvement.
Any comments or advice would be mich appreciated.
We just want our girl to be able to live a normal happy life.
Thanks heaps,
Hayley

Welcome to the forum, Hayley and Indi
Poor little thing, that sounds awful for her. And for you, of course.
I would take her to a specialist. Your vet has clearly tried everything he can think of without success. I wouldn't wait any longer, I'd book her in with someone who has the knowledge and experience to get to the bottom of this quickly.
Fingers crossed for you both.

Hello & welcome.
Some of the symptoms sound like Megaesophagus. This link may help... http://m.petmd.com/dog/conditions/digestive/c_dg_megaesophagus
Do you know if your vet has considered this?

Hello and welcome from us
Specialist sounds like the next route to try.
Hope you get the diagnosis soon so you can get Indi more comfortable.

Hi there and thanks very much for the welcome. It is nice to know that these forums are here for us to communicate.
This is a condition that has been suggested quite a few times now, I'm sure that the vet has mentioned it but will definitely have them look into it a bit further.
Thanks again,
Hayley
